Self-service activities

Self-service activities run on hourly reservations. You come in with the access code from your confirmation email, create, clean up and leave. You work independently, an instructor is available only during consultation hours. Everything else you need is on site.

What is ready for you

  • A workspace and the equipment for your chosen activity, such as a wheel, a banding wheel or a seat at the shared table.
  • Tools and aprons.
  • Material within the scope of the activity, such as an amount of clay per hour of reservation, or glazes and decorating colours.
  • Firing of your pieces.

You bring nothing but clothes that can get clay on them.

How an hour goes

  1. You enter with the access code from your confirmation email and find your spot.
  2. You weigh out clay according to the activity, or find your pieces for glazing on the shelf.
  3. You create. Guides to the techniques are in the studio and in Materials & techniques.
  4. You sign the finished piece and put it in the designated spot. An unfinished piece you wrap and store.
  5. You clean up following Clean-up & leaving.

Consultation hours

During consultation hours an instructor is available to you in the self-service studio, free of charge and within your reservation. It's not a workshop or a private lesson: you create on your own and the instructor steps in whenever you're unsure, whether it's modelling, wheel throwing, trimming, glazing or decorating. You can also go over finished unglazed pieces together. It's ideal for your first visit, when the instructor shows you around the studio and helps you find your bearings. Consultations cost nothing extra, you only need a reservation. The current consultation hours are listed under self-service activities.

Multiple visits

Ceramics is a process spread over several visits. Throwing on the wheel has two stages: first you throw the pieces, a few days later you come back and trim them. Every piece is then glazed after the first firing, which is another separate visit. You book each visit separately. We invite you to glaze by email once your pieces are ready. What costs extra

Material beyond your reservation, bisque blanks and optional services (such as glazing done for you) are paid contactless at the terminal in the studio.
