Workshops & courses
Workshops and courses are led by an instructor, have a fixed date and a small capacity so the instructor gets to everyone. You book them in the calendar like self-service activities. One-to-one practice lessons, where the instructor works only with you, are arranged through an inquiry form.
Workshop or course
- A workshop is a one-off session focused on one technique or theme.
- A course is a series of sessions where you learn step by step and take home more pieces.
Both formats suit complete beginners unless the specific date says otherwise.
What is usually included
Material, tools, firings and light refreshments. You bring nothing. The scope differs per workshop and is always listed with the specific date.
What happens after a workshop
- Pieces often need finishing that is not part of the workshop. For example, throwing is followed by trimming, and the first firing by glazing. You book a self-service activity for these steps. It is not included in the workshop price.
- For some workshops we do the glazing for you. This is always stated in the description.
- We keep you informed about each step by email, just like with self-service pieces, see Your piece's journey.
- You can keep developing the techniques from the workshop in the self-service studio. That is exactly what the studio is built for.
Cancelling your spot
Your spot in a workshop is reserved just for you and once taken we cannot offer it to anyone else. Treat the booking as a final decision. Cancellation terms and replacement options are listed with every workshop and in Cancellation & withdrawal.
